Myself and Abigail Stocker from Beaulieu attended the workshop yesterday for the ‘support services’ area. We discussed the common challenges that we face in our roles – most often capacity and a need to improve efficiency!
If we were to proceed in the formation of a peer development group and submitted an expression of interest for funding (£500) then we will need to have an idea of what we want the funding to achieve, how it will be used and how it will help all of us.
As a ‘test’ topic we discussed a move to paperless meetings which as PAs, both Abigail and I felt would save a huge amount of time and paper(!). It is something that we should all be moving towards in the near future anyway, with some organisations having already made the move, and discussed how the funding could be used to scope out options, test resources, potentially attend training/workshops and contact people who have been through the transition. With the intention of gradually rolling it across certain teams within our organisation but also creating a work resource for other teams and/or organisations who are looking to make the move also.
This concept is by no means set in stone so if people are interested in joining the group then please do throw other ideas out there. It would be agreed upon by all members before proceeding.
